    CAYP's New President

The big news coming out of CAYP's 3rd Anniversary at 677 Prime last Friday is that Founder and President Maxine Barasch has stepped down from her role as President. We are very glad to announce that Maxine will stay on as a Board Member moving forward.

Stepping in as President of CAYP will be Theresa Petrone (Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) who has served on the CAYP Board for over a year. In addition to the change in President, Ryan Hanley (Guilderland Insurance Agency) has been named Vice President, a position previously unoccupied. CAYP also announced the placement of six new Board Members for upcoming year: Adam Boghosian, Adam Breault, Jason Abare, Josh Krull, Stephany Richter and Scott Wildove.

Don't forget you can also join the CAYP here on iZoca!

Playathon on Sat, Feb 06, 10:30AM - 6:30PM EST at Crossgates Mall, Guilderland/Albany

  • By Sara Torrey - Tue, Feb 02 - 2 replies

  • Only a few days to one of ESYO's biggest events - Playathon!

Hearing is believing - and boy, oh boy, you will HEAR lots of wonderful music at Playathon. It's an amazing day when the 300 musicians of ESYO perform (not all at once!) in an open area on the lower level of Crossgates Mall in Albany. Classical music, contemporary percussion (it's not just drums, you know!), and jazz - where else can you go to hear such a variety FOR FREE!!!

Bid for the conductor's baton - if you win, you get to stand on the podium and conduct a familiar patriotic tune - don't worry , the kids will make you look great!!

Not sure what instrument is to your liking? John Keal Music Co. will have instruments on hand for you to try at their Musical Petting Zoo - a Playathon staple for years.

And the RAFFLE! We have wonderful prizes including hand-made quilts, a car wash package from Hoffman, tickets to SPAC (for the Philadelphia Orchestra or NY City Ballet next summer), tickets to Capital Repertory Theatre, AND MORE! And raffle tickets are only $5 a piece!

Playathon raises money to support ESYO's program of music education and performance. A donation at Playathon is an investment in the future of music.

Swing by Crossgates to hear some of the region's best young musicians - and try to drop a dollar bill from the 2nd floor into the bell of the tuba!!

    When: Sat., Feb. 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. - details and a schedule, visit www.esyo.org.
